PUNO PUKARA TINAJANI LA RAYA ANDAHUAYLILLAS CUSCO & LUNCH IN AN AGRICULTURAL/TOURIST LODGE

 

DESCRIPTION

Puno is the cradle of the Incan empire. The children of the Sun, Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo, came out of Lake Titicaca to establish the empire and arrive at Cusco.

On this route, we will find uncountable natural, archeological and colonial sites of interest.

 

We have developed an excellent itinerary so that you can enjoy this overland trip and visit interesting places along the way.

Itinerary:

6:30 a.m. Depart from Puno

8:30 a.m. Visit Pukara, an archaeological site of the Andean high plateau culture and the border of the southern agricultural region (waru warus and camellones, or raised beds with irrigation channels) and northern livestock (habitat for alpacas, llamas, vicunas, and other camelid species)

9:40 a.m. Tinajani Canyon, with natural pink rock formations (Tub, towers, and more), very close to the forest of Puya raimondii (the largest bromeliad species)

12:00 a.m. Lunch in Tambo Queque Norte, near La Raya Pass, at a cheese-making factory for gourmet food and a top-notch local lunch, in a rural mountainous and high-plateau environment

1:30 p.m. A short visit to La Raya Pass before entering the Sacred Valley, where we can appreciate the Apu Mountains (the main mountains surrounding the valley)

4:00 p.m. Arrival at Andahuaylillas and a visit to the “Sistine Chapel of the Andes”

6:00 p.m. Approximate time of arrival at Cusco
